At first glance, the designation rights are based on a confusing number of European, national and multinational legal provisions. On closer inspection, however, all these legal provisions have only a limited scope of application and are therefore ultimately manageable. Apart from special laws and special provisions for the protection of geographical designations of origin[1], the following regulations apply.
